Spay Pride Walk Run
EVENT DATE: Jan 10, 2016
Spay Pride is a dog-friendly 5K Run/Walk and is the signature fundraising event for Panacea Animal Wellness Sanctuary (www.pawsaz.org.). This is the second annual 5K annual walk/run and we couldn’t be more EXCITED. What is better than spending an amazing day in January at Kiwanis Park (Tempe Arizona) with your best human and furry friends, knowing that your efforts along with the support of the community will rally to raise funds to benefit those orphaned shelter animals needing Panacea’s help.
When you consider the number of orphaned shelter animals which are euthanized on a daily basis within Arizona shelters, you cannot deny there is a problem that requires community intervention. So, in 2009, Dr. DeCozio, the veterinarian and Founder, created Panacea in hopes that others like herself would open there hearts, donate their time, money and/or expertise to helping solve this overwhelming problem of needless animal euthanasia. This isn’t your typical event where funds end up paying overhead and salaries. In the case of Spay Pride, Panacea’s (i) veterinarian and Founder donates her time, expertise and surgical skills at no cost, (ii) rescue pets are rehabilitated in loving foster homes rather than cold shelter kennels, and (iii) staff and workers are all unpaid volunteers. The first Spay Pride 5K Walk/Run raised enough money to rescue over 450 cats and dogs in 2014, including sick, neglected animals like sweet Bandit (pictured).
Simply put, Spay Pride is that one singular event that determines how many sweet orphaned shelter lives can be saved by Panacea in the coming year. So please REGISTER TODAY to make a difference in your community, knowing that your support simply means life or death to sweet orphan shelter animals like Bandit who can finally hold his head high with his forever family by the side.
