PAWS was founded in 2026 by Jessica and Brian, partners and animal lovers living and working in Phoenix, AZ.
We both have worked off and on for years helping to save cats, dogs, and other small animals in our home cities of Los Angeles and Albuquerque, respectively. We always dreamed of starting an organization to help save animals. When we met in 2024, we never knew that only a year later we’d be saving the lives of one rabbit, Liza Bunelli (AKA, Bun-Bun), from a park in Compton, CA. Little did we know that she would soon give birth to six rabbit babies that we would immediately consider part of our family.
In 2026, after moving to Phoenix, AZ, we saw that there was a need for an animal rescue that would help not only “standard” domesticated animals such as cats and dogs, but also rabbits, who generally do not carry the same emotion that we humans attach to animal companions.
PAWS’ goal is to save animals who need homes via rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home.
