It’s funny how rescues happen when you start running an animal rescue. One minute you’re just going to PetSmart to get some rabbit food, and the next you’re rescuing 7 kittens that were abandoned in a bag in the 115 degree Phoenix summer.
Jessica had just that happen to her the other day, when someone visiting PetSmart was trying to find a resource to help the 7 kittens she’d discovered abandoned in Phoenix, and was asking a PetSmart representative what to do. Puzzled, the employee stated that they should take them to animal humane.
We have high respect for Maricopa County Animal Humane; they have an amazing adoption rate, their social media is on-point, and they do great work all around. But, it can be difficult even with what they do to give personalized care to young animals.
And so, having overheard this conversation, Jessica offered to help, and we now find ourselves with 7 young kittens who will soon be in need of loving homes. Some already have amazing folks here in Phoenix interested in them, but many still need homes.

And, it is always worth stating; please adopt, don’t shop, and please have your pets spayed or neutered. It is the first way to truly ensure that animal overpopulation is less an issue.
